Is there any way to copy a website’s full source code?
I am trying to help my friend with his website. I used an ftp to download the files for the site, but he doesn’t have the source code. When i go to the website and select view source it doesn’t give me the whole source, only the page I am currently viewing. Is there a way to find the whole source so I can copy it to dreamweaver CS4.
You will not be able to get the site source code through a web browser if the pages are created server-side (e.g. php, asp, .net). If you are able to connect to the site directory by FTP, assuming that your connection details have sufficient privileges, you should be able to get a copy of the source that way. You may want to confirm that you FTP connection is being made to the site directory and not to a generic FTP subdirectory.
