Can I make money as a blogger?

If so how does it work. I know the more traffic I get the better, but how does that equate to money?

Once you have high traffic you get sponsors. They will advertise since you have lots of people reading/subscribing. Go look at other blogs, look at their sponsors. If you do a baby blog that is all about babies then you would want to talk to formula & diaper companies.
